The short version: Not Redundant is designed to collect as little data as possible. You don't create an account. You don't give us your name or email. The answers you type into the tool are sent to an AI to generate your plan, then discarded — we don't keep them. The only things we store are anonymous feedback (if you choose to leave it) and your IP address for a short period to prevent abuse.
This notice explains what data Not Redundant (notredundant.com) collects, why, and what your rights are. It applies to all users regardless of where you're located — including the UK (UK GDPR), New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020), and Australia (Privacy Act 1988).

What data we collect and why
1. Your answers in the job loss tool
When you use the main job loss plan tool, you answer a short series of questions — your country, industry, age bracket, and circumstances. These answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate your personalised plan.
We do not store your answers. They pass through our server to the AI, the response comes back, and that's it. Nothing is written to a database or kept after the session ends. The budget calculator works entirely in your browser and makes no server calls at all.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests — necessary to provide the service you've asked for.
2. CV content
If you use the CV builder, the content you enter is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to produce a formatted CV. The same applies as above — we do not store your CV content. It is sent for processing and not retained.
Note: Your CV may contain sensitive personal information (employment history, personal details). Do not include your NI/tax number, passport number, or bank details in your CV content.

3. Feedback form submissions
After receiving your plan, you can optionally leave feedback — a yes/no rating and a free-text suggestion. If you submit feedback, we receive:
- The timestamp of submission
- Your rating (Helpful / Not helpful)
- Any text you choose to write
- A flag indicating which page the feedback came from
Feedback is stored in Google Sheets. We don't ask for your name or email — please don't include them in the free-text field if you don't want us to receive them.
Retention: Feedback is kept for up to 2 years, then deleted.

4. IP addresses (rate limiting)
To prevent the free tool from being abused, we store your IP address after you generate a job loss plan. This prevents a single user from making unlimited requests and keeps the service free for everyone.
Your IP address is stored in Cloudflare's KV storage and automatically deleted after 90 days.

5. Web analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, how long pages take to load, and roughly where visitors are from. Cloudflare's analytics do not use cookies and do not track individual users. No personal data is collected or stored by this system.

We don't sell data. We don't share data with advertisers. We don't use any third-party tracking or advertising scripts.
Cookies
Not Redundant does not set any cookies itself. Cloudflare may set technical cookies as part of its infrastructure (security, DDoS protection). We don't use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you have rights over your data under applicable privacy law. These include the right to:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — ask us to delete data we hold about you
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable format (UK/EU GDPR)
In practice, because we collect so little: if you've left feedback and want it deleted, email us and we'll remove it. If you want your IP address cleared from the rate-limit store (for example, to use the tool again), email us and we'll clear it manually.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@notredundant.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're in the UK and aren't satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In NZ, contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. In Australia, contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Data transfers
Anthropic is a US-based company. When your answers are sent to the Claude API, they are transferred to and processed in the United States. Anthropic maintains appropriate data processing agreements and security measures. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
Children
This site is intended for adults who have lost employment. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we collect or use data in a material way, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. For minor changes (corrections, clarifications), we'll update the page without announcement.
